About Me
I’m Anish Nellickal®, an environmental activist and nature enthusiast from Ponnani, Malappuram, Kerala, India, committed to plant conservation and ecological harmony. I currently serve as the General Secretary of Plant Village Charitable Society and Plant Aqua and Fish Conservation of India, two organizations dedicated to restoring ecosystems, protecting endangered species, and building strong community awareness about biodiversity.
With more than two decades of experience in horticulture and ecological restoration in Kerala, I design and implement biodiverse landscapes that are both beautiful and sustainable. My expertise includes creating fruitful home gardens, butterfly gardens, Miyawaki forests, tree rejuvenation, and large-scale tree transplantation projects across Kerala. As a recognized butterfly garden expert in Kerala, I help schools, institutions, and private clients create habitats that attract pollinators and strengthen local ecosystems.
I am also passionate about the art of bonsai and the healing power of horticultural therapy, believing that connecting with plants can transform lives. Through workshops and consultancy services, I have guided individuals, educational institutions, and organizations in developing spaces that bring people closer to nature.
Over the years, I have contributed extensively to platforms such as Wikimedia Commons, iNaturalist, and the India Biodiversity Portal, where I’ve documented thousands of plant species and ecological observations from across India. Each contribution is a step towards raising awareness and preserving our planet’s green heritage.
My consultancy services cover a wide range of specialized gardening in Kerala — from aromatic, sensory, and medicinal gardens to vertical gardens, kokedama creations, landscape design, and indoor plant setups. Whether it is developing a scientific butterfly garden in Kerala, implementing a star or zodiac tree garden, or advising on ecological restoration projects, I work with dedication to ensure quality and sustainability.
I am always open to collaborations, ecological consultancy, and community projects across Kerala and India. If you’re looking for an expert in butterfly gardens, tree transplantation, or horticultural therapy in Kerala, let’s connect and build a greener tomorrow together!

An Environmental Message
from Anish Nellickal®
“Forestation is a social commitment. Every year on World Environment Day, saplings are planted but often forgotten. Climate change will drastically impact the lives of future generations. Our stable homes will be flooded, our water sources will dry up, and our crops will fail due to rising temperatures. As deforestation persists, our oxygen supply will dwindle.”
